Daxis — structured, recorded decisions

Explicit alternatives, defined criteria, respected limits and a permanent record of why each decision was made.

"Decisions stay in the meeting room and then get lost."

Without structure, decisions get made without explicit criteria, discussions repeat themselves, changes contradict earlier deliberations — and when someone asks "why did we do this?", the answer depends on who was in the room.

A new manager inherits incomplete documents, makes decisions without knowing prior agreements, and changes projects that had an unrecorded rationale.

What the methodology delivers today

Deciding with structure, in four elements.

01
Explicit alternatives.

What's being considered — including doing nothing.

02
Defined criteria.

What matters in this decision, with weight and order declared before the choice, not after.

03
Veto limits.

Conditions that eliminate an alternative regardless of its other qualities. What's non-negotiable is stated up front.

04
Permanent record.

The decision, who took part, which criteria were used, what information was available at that moment — the decision ledger. Revisable without losing history.

Daxis structures the decision. Decision-making responsibility remains human and explicit.

Method · Multicriteria decision support

How Daxis structures a decision.

Daxis uses multicriteria decision support methods — such as AHP and other comparison frameworks — combined with risk analysis, premortems, assumption testing and decision logging. Its role isn't to replace the decision-maker, but to make explicit why an alternative was chosen and what conditions support that choice.

01
What's happening

Perceived by Snider — the reading of reality with support and context.

02
What can be done

Organized into explicit alternatives — including doing nothing.

03
What will be chosen

Weighing criteria, risks, veto limits and strategic intent.

The result isn't an automatic recommendation. It's a human decision that's clearer, traceable and defensible.

A concrete example

A revenue drop: with and without structure.

Without structure

The manager sees revenue fell. Sales blames fewer leads, finance proposes cutting costs, product wants to ship a new feature. No one checks whether the drop came from cancellations, pricing or late payments. Several actions start at once — for a problem that hasn't even been understood yet.

With the base and Daxis

Snider's reading shows the source of the drop and what supports it. Hypotheses with evidence are kept separate from those without. Each alternative is assessed against the defined criteria. The decision and its rationale are recorded — and later results can be compared with what was expected.
